Edgar Rogers Ingram

Edgar Rogers “Rog” Ingram, 67, passed away peacefully at home on October 13, 2017, after a long and valiant battle against Alzheimer’s Disease. He was surrounded by family. Rog was preceded in death by his parents, Florence (Flossie) Rogers Ingram and John (Jack) Harland Ingram, and is survived by his widow, Linda Press Ingram and daughter, Anna Elizabeth Ingram, brother John (Jake) Harland Ingram, Jr., (Pam), sister Florence (Flo) Ingram Hunter (Don), and nieces Ivy Ingram, Allison Press, and Juliana Press, and nephew Ian Ingram (Jeri Lynn).
A lifelong resident of Jacksonville, Rog was graduated from Robert E. Lee High School, where he was on the varsity golf team. He attended Florida Southern College before returning to Jacksonville, where he joined Beach Federal Savings and Loan. He later joined Stockton, Whatley, and Davin in its mortgage division. After moving on to Bank Boston, he joined Alliance Mortgage, which later became EverBank. At EverBank Rog rose to become Senior Vice President, Residential and Construction Lending Division, until his retirement in 2012.
Rog served as chairman of the board of St. Mark’s Episcopal Day School as well as chairman of its Ortega River Run. Also at St. Mark’s, Rog was an EYC leader and taught senior high Sunday school, adult Sunday school, and served as a past member of the vestry. As a sufferer of Type 1 Diabetes, Rog was active in the North Florida/South Georgia American Diabetes Association, chairing its board for many years. He was a past member of Timuquana Country Club.
Rog will be remembered for his deep love of his family and friends, his leadership and acumen in the local banking community, his mentorship of the many people whose lives he touched, his affinity for music, his abiding faith, and his brilliant wit.
A funeral service will be held at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 4129 Oxford Avenue, Jacksonville, FL, 32210, on Monday, October 23, at 10:30 am. The service will be followed by onsite interment at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church Memorial Garden and a reception at Leatherbury Hall at the church.
